EXPERIENCE

Alexandre da Fonte Filho has over 30 years of experience in the legal structuring of business investments, as well as in the planning of asset organization for business groups and their operations, particularly in corporate and tax aspects.

He is a specialist in tax consulting involving fiscal incentives available in the Northeast region of Brazil. With academic backgrounds in law, accounting, and business administration, and practical expertise in both corporate and tax law, he is responsible for integrating the Corporate (M&A, Corporate Law, and Contracts) and Tax departments of the firm, ensuring that operations are carried out with tax efficiency and corporate consistency.

He also has extensive experience in tax litigation, both in administrative and judicial spheres.

EDUCATION

Law Degree, Federal University of Pernambuco; Degree in Accounting, Catholic University of Pernambuco; Postgraduate Degree in Business Administration, Harvard University (Cambridge, USA), where he was awarded the Katie Y. F. Yang Prize; MBA in Business Law, Fundação Getulio Vargas – FGV.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

Alexandre is a member of the Regional Board of the American Chamber of Commerce in Recife and a mentor at Endeavor, assisting in the legal evaluation of companies mentored by the institution, particularly in corporate, contractual, and tax matters. He is a member of the Steering Committee of the Pernambuco Chapter of IBGC – Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance. He also serves as Strategic Innovation Advisor at the Intelligence Tax School. From 2005 to 2011, he served as a Councilor at the Administrative Council of Tax Appeals – CARF (formerly the Taxpayers’ Council) of the Brazilian Ministry of Finance, where he held the positions of Vice-President of the 1st Taxpayers’ Council, of its Superior Chamber of Tax Appeals, and Vice-President of the First Judging Section.

Recognized by the British publication Chambers & Partners for his work in Tax Law among lawyers practicing in Northeastern Brazil in the 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, and 2017 editions.

Acknowledged by Análise Advocacia as one of the Most Admired Lawyers and by Leaders League as Leading in the areas of Corporate/Commercial Northeast and Tax Northeast.

Recipient of the Katie Y. F. Yang Prize from Harvard University, awarded to the international student with the best academic performance, 1997. Co-author of the book A Portrait of the Legal Profession in Pernambuco – Bagaço Publishing – Recife, 2012.
