EXPERIENCE

Carlos André Rodrigues Pereira Lima has over 15 years of experience in tax law. He also holds a degree in accounting from the Catholic University of Brasília. He specializes in administrative and judicial tax litigation and in consulting services for business structuring for both legal entities and individuals. He served for five and a half years as a judge at the Administrative Council of Tax Appeals of the Ministry of Finance (CARF). He currently serves as a judge at the Administrative Tax Council of the Municipality of Recife (CAF/RECIFE).

EDUCATION

Law Degree from the Catholic University of Pernambuco.
Degree in Accounting from the Catholic University of Brasília.
Postgraduate Degree in Tax Law from the Brazilian Institute for Tax Studies (IBET).
Certified in International Taxation through the Executive Program at Leiden University (Leiden, Netherlands).

OTHER ACTIVITIES

Served two terms as a council member of the Brazilian Bar Association, Pernambuco Section, where he also chaired the Tax Affairs Committee. He coordinated the tax law department of the Ruy Antunes School of Advocacy. He has been a speaker at AMCHAM – RECIFE, the Federation of Industries of the State of Pernambuco, and Damas College. He is a full member of the Brazilian Institute of Tax Law.

AWARDS AND RECOGNITION

Recognized by the British publication Chambers & Partners for his work in Tax Law among lawyers practicing in Northeastern Brazil in the 2025, 2024, and 2023 editions. Also recognized by Análise Advocacia, being ranked among the most admired lawyers in Brazil in the field of Tax Law.

Co-author of the books “Rural Land Tax in Light of the Jurisprudence of the Administrative Council of Tax Appeals” (2015, São Paulo: MP Editora) and “Personal Income Tax in Light of the Jurisprudence of the Administrative Council of Tax Appeals” (2014, São Paulo: MP Editora).
