EXPERIENCE

Juliano provides legal counsel with a focus on Intellectual Property, advising companies on the protection, management, and commercialization of intangible assets. He has extensive experience handling administrative proceedings before the Brazilian National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI), including trademark and industrial design registrations, oppositions, administrative appeals, invalidation proceedings, and cancellation actions for non-use, as well as preparing legal opinions on registrability and developing strategies for the protection of industrial property rights.

He also advises on Privacy and Data Protection projects related to the implementation of compliance programs under the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD). His work includes compliance assessments, contract reviews, drafting internal policies, process mapping, employee training, and the development of privacy governance frameworks for companies across a wide range of industries.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Faculdade Maurício de Nassau. Postgraduate degree in Corporate Law from the Brazilian School of Law (EBRADI). Postgraduate degree in Digital Law from CESAR School.

Certified in M&A Contract Disputes by the Brazilian School of Law (EBRADI). Certified in Intellectual Property and Protection Mechanisms for Intellectual Creations by the Brazilian National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI). Also holds several specialized certifications in Intellectual Property awarded by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

OTHER ACTIVITIES

Before dedicating his practice exclusively to Intellectual Property and Data Protection, Juliano worked for more than five years in Corporate, Commercial, and Contract Law, advising companies on corporate formation and restructuring, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, dispute resolution, and transactions involving licensing, assignments, franchising, technology transfer, and other business arrangements related to the commercialization of intellectual assets.

Throughout his career, he has led LGPD compliance and data protection projects for companies in the healthcare, communications, engineering, food, and market research sectors. He also coordinated the copyright regularization project for the collection of the Cais do Sertão Museum, overseeing the review and negotiation of contractual instruments, coordinating with rights holders and public authorities, and consolidating the legal framework governing the collection to ensure its preservation and lawful exploitation.
